GEL Employer Engagement Opportunities

GEL is one of three programs within MIT’s Technical Leadership and Communication (TLC) Programs with employer engagement offerings.

The GEL Program offers engineering employers unique access to over 160 highly skilled MIT students. Specific employer engagement opportunities are outlined below. GEL Corporate Sponsorship Offerings

Option 1: TLC Employer Network Membership - Free+-

Companies seeking to engage with MIT juniors and seniors who have developed engineering leadership skills are invited to join the TLC Employer Network at no cost.

  • Share internships and job opportunities with 160+ GEL students and 1,500+ alumni
  • Mentor future engineering leaders and support their technical and leadership development
  • Promote roles via GEL email and Slack channels to students and alumni
  • Advertise company events to 160+ GEL juniors and seniors
  • Participate in the GEL Virtual Career Fair (summer)
  • Attend an Engineering Leadership Lab (ELL) session
  • Engage in student mentorship opportunities (e.g., attending mentorship events, hosting a GEL student intern, and/or being assigned a GEL student mentee)
Option 2: Host a Sponsored Event $2,500-$4,500+-

Connect with students through tailored, high-visibility engagement opportunities such as seminars, workshops, info sessions, and networking events offered in person or virtually.


1. Exclusive Event for GEL Students – $2,500-$3,500

  • End-to-end event staffing support (pre-event, on-site, and post-event)
  • Reserve campus classroom and meeting spaces
  • Provide full event logistics support (event registration, catering, and AV coordination)
  • Promote events directly to GEL students
  • Prominent sponsor recognition and direct engagement opportunities with students during events


2.  Broader Engagement Events – $3,500-$4,500

With GEL students and selected MIT engineering majors based on employer needs

  • End-to-end event staffing support (pre-event, on-site, and post-event)
  • Reserve campus classroom and meeting spaces
  • Provide full event logistics support (catering, event registration, catering and AV coordination)
  • Promote events to GEL students, alumni, and/or desired targeted majors
  • Prominent sponsor recognition and direct engagement opportunities with students during events c
Option 3: Sponsor GEL Engineering Leadership Lab$2,000-$5,000+-

Exclusive company representation during weekly Engineering Leadership Lab (ELL) sessions with direct engagement with GEL students.

Sole Company Sponsorship of Engineering Leadership Lab (ELL) – $5,000/all day, $2,000 /per lab session

  • Engage directly with 160+ GEL students
  • Ongoing public recognition throughout the day
  • Brief pitch (1-3 minutes) of company’s work as it relates to the leadership capabilities practiced in the lab
  • Host a branded luncheon and info session with full end-to-end event staffing support
Option 4: Support GEL Students at Professional Development Eventscost provided upon request+-

Support student professional development and provide meaningful industry exposure.

  • Student travel and accommodation coordinated by GEL staff
  • Sponsor recognition featured on the GEL website
  • End-to-end application management and candidate selection
Option 5: Annual Corporate Sponsorship of ELL$10,000/year+-

Annual sponsorship provides priority access and continuous year-round engagement with students.

  • First opportunity to renew ELL sponsorship (fall and spring)
  • Priority selection of specific ELL sessions to sponsor
  • Full-day company representation across all three Friday ELL sessions
  • Public company recognition before and after lab activities
  • Brief pitch (1-3 minutes) of company’s work as it relates to the leadership capabilities practiced in the lab
  • Host a branded luncheon and info session with full end-to-end event staffing support
  • Sponsor recognition featured on the GEL website
  • Private room for meetings, business use, or student interviews

Engineering company representatives can get involved by participating as guests during our weekly Engineering Leadership Labs. We also seek experienced engineers in industry to serve as mentors to our current students.

Engineering employers can engage with students in the following ways:

  • Employers can share internship and full-time engineering positions with a diverse pool of over 160 students from MIT and Wellesley College
  • Engineering representatives at company can attend and participate in Engineering Leadership Labs
  • Engineering leaders at company can serve as mentors and support GEL students’ personal and professional development
  • Employers receive free advertising for their recruiting events at MIT to GEL students
What are the benefits of becoming a GEL sponsor?+-

GEL sponsors MUST be engineering specific employers to receive premium access to our students. We invite GEL sponsors to engage with students in the following ways:

  • Receive sole sponsorship of a unique GEL Engineering Leadership Lab course session
  • Host exclusive event for GEL students (e.g., Industry Lunch & Learn)
  • Host event for GEL students, alumni, and company’s preferred targeted engineering majors more broadly across MIT
  • Become an annual corporate sponsor of our Engineering Leadership Labs (Annual sponsors are given sole sponsorship of two labs during the year and a company branded luncheon event)
